At Blossom & Browne’s Sycamore Laundry, we understand the importance of sustainability to our clients. That’s why we are committed to minimising our environmental impact and continuously improving our practices.

Since 2015, we have operated an Environmental Management System (EMS) and actively participate in the UK Government’s Climate Change Agreement scheme to enhance our environmental performance.

Since joining the CCA scheme back in 2014, we have successfully reduced our energy use (kWh) per tonne of linen by 42%, resulting in a reduction in carbon per tonne by 45%!

Their expertise in environmental management has helped us drive significant Greenhouse Gas Emissions reductions since 2018.

Together, we are committed to delivering a sustainable cleaning service that helps us, and in turn our clients, to meet environmental goals and legislation.

Our Environmental Policy and Commitments:

• The protection of the environment, including prevention of pollution implied through efficient working practices, good plant maintenance and correct process design and execution.
• Adopting a company transport strategy which minimises environmental impact as far as possible by efficient logistics, good vehicle maintenance, eco-driving policy and monitoring and replacement schedules with focus on ULEV vehicles.
• Adhering to our procurement procedures which specifically include assessing the environmental implications and potential of products purchased as well as efficiency and technological advances.
• Remaining informed and aware of the life cycle or “cradle to the grave” attributes and implications of business commodities, products, packaging and equipment.
• Keep up to date with the spirit and commitments of our compliance obligations including environmental legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
• Considering environmental impacts and opportunities in all our operations, including; energy use, transport, waste disposal, water and chemicals.

The company will liaise as required with the local community and authorities on environmental matters. This Environmental Policy is made available to all employees and the public.
